May kicked off our crazy wedding season (we shot 14 weddings in 13 weeks from May to July). This was the last wedding of the month. We drove to the beautiful town of Ponca City. I really like this couple…maybe because we now all share the last name with no relation ;) No, they are just super cool and they are my kinda people. Their wedding was just perfect; I started off at Marland Mansion where the girls got ready and Ryan went to the chapel to be with the guys. I really enjoyed photographing Sarah with her bridesmaids. You will see below that we did the infamous “Bridesmaid’s” photo. This was my 1st time to do it so we had a lot of fun laughing and working on getting “the shot”. I went ahead and added in to try and make it look like a movie poster, haha – think I’ll just stick to photography. I loved doing their photos at the mansion, its just a stunning venue. After their ceremony at the chapel we were getting ready to head back to the mansion and it started raining while the sun was shining (rain is supposed to be good luck on your wedding day). Go figure its Oklahoma. I told Ryan to go get our umbrella out of the truck because we couldn’t let Sarah get wet (Ryan got a funny pic of that below). We finished up photos at mansion and then headed into the reception. They had a yummy cookie bar, a wooden bench for guests to sign, food, drinks, music, dancing, and a beautiful cake! This couple really likes to dance and I’m glad they did because the room was just stunning. We did the bouquet toss off the balcony which made for some interesting and fun photos. Then their family and friends sent them off for their honeymoon!

Rob and Sarah, I really enjoyed getting to know you both! You are such a sweet and beautiful couple! I wish you all the best and many blessings on all the years to come!

I think I might be gettin’ this whole blog thing down, or at least for the time being while I’m slower. Last May we had a double wedding weekend in Oklahoma City, this was our second one that took place on Sunday May 19th. The whole weekend was such a beautiful weekend with some occasional Oklahoma showers….I now know the true meaning of “the calm before the storm”. This was the weekend before the Moore tornado hit, so we knew that a storm was coming, but we didn’t know all the details or when exactly it would arrive. We arrived at Farmer’s Market (I was really excited about shooting there because its just a really neat place) around 2pm, it was sunny skies and warm air. While Bailey was getting ready we were getting excited about their first look. The wind started to pick up and the National Weatherman came over the radio giving warnings about tornados. I started to get a little nervous – thinking what do we do if there is a tornado on a wedding day; this can’t be happening. If this was me on my wedding day…I would have freaked out. Bailey was so calm and it didn’t really bother her. So we opted to doing their first look and photos inside since the wind was 50mph and the rain started to come in. Their wedding was just gorgeous and so much fun! We enjoyed capturing all their memories and fun times! Their friends and family did such a beautiful job on all the decorations and finishing touches to make their day complete. At the end they tried for the chinese lanterns since the rain had stopped, but that Oklahoma wind wasn’t going to allow it. So we just took pics with them instead. They didn’t let the tornado warnings and crazy weather, rain on their parade! We wish you both all the best! Thank you for choosing us to be a part of such a special time in your lives.

P.S. Bailey I know you are going to read this and I know you are a teacher…so If you see any grammar errors…please ignore them. Now you know why I’m a photographer, hehe. I will blog your engagements soon too.
